We have had two very good days of cycling on the coast of Southern California. Wednesday, we departed Half Moon Bay in the sunshine and headed south towards Santa Cruz. With the Pacific within view for most of the ride it was a fabulous experience.

Beth provided vehicle support for the day and Julie joined us for the afternoon ride down the coast.

Today, we rode 40 miles from Santa Cruz to Monterey. While not along the coast we were still provided with the marvelous scenery and smells of the California Agriculture business. We saw strawberries being planted and ready for harvest, brussel sprouts, celery and artichokes.

Rob and I met Julie and Beth at a park 20 miles from the start. They told us that they were admiring the wildlife. However, all Rob and I saw when we arrived was a parking lot full of Surfer Dudes.

The afternoon was spent wandering around the town and on Monterey Bay.
